Frequently Asked Questions

Camp age range usually runs between 10 year olds through 17 year olds (younger and older campers are also welcome). We have beginners, intermediate, advanced and all in between. For lessons, campers are grouped in small groups with others of their ability level at the beginning of camp. This way the beginner kids are not overly challenged and the advanced kids are not bored. We have ample staff and volunteers to provide 1:1 assistance for beginner riders. Our focus is on safety and to expose the kids to the joy of riding; building skills and confidence.
Our Director, Anne Pearson, has over 30 years experience teaching riding. She has her British Horse Society accreditation (the highest attainable in the U.K.). Our organization has been in existence since 2000 and in our current location since 2001. We have been running residential camps for the last 7 years.
We have a current limit of 12 campers/camp. The Counselor to Camper ratio is around 1:3 but during the day we have many volunteers to help out which decreases the ratio often to 1:1.
There are two counselors and usually at least 2 Junior counselors that stay with the campers at all times. They sleep in the same large bunkhouse with the campers. We are just finishing the building of the bunkhouse so it will be brand new!
Yes. We have a year round program of lessons, Pony Club, and special needs riders.
Most of the kids like English but they are free to chose Western if that is what they like.
No. We find that cell phones are divisive and not condusive for group fun.
We have a professional cook prepare and cook their meals. Neither the campers nor the camp staff cook their meals.
